Data Backup will save your money

Data is very important for all of our daily life it might be personal data or business. Just think about if one day all of your data lost from your company computer and now calculate your time and money that all data you backup in  your computer which relates with your all effort and time, means money. Many people I saw crying for there data or clients data after crashed there computer. You may recover data through data recovery center but most of the time it’s really costly and time consuming. People of-course understand there value of data but may be due to negligence or other work load the importance becomes beyond the memory. I observed some company even closed there operation for time being after computer crashed.

It is always better if you plan your backup from today. Just make a simple plan:

  1. What to backup? Take one pen and paper. Make a plan what you have in your personal computer and make another plan for your business computer. Identify what is most important data you have in your computer. Which data need to update frequently and need backup at the same time. Now you will see the clear picture which data is more important and which is less. What data need to backup everyday, what data need to backup every week and which will be in monthly and so on.
  2. Where to backup? Now a days data back up itself a big industry. There are many ways you can backup your data and keep it with you or you can safely preserve it in the cloud. You can use external Hard Disk Drive or USB to backup your data locally. Some people interested to keep there data in there own cloud device. Some are take membership monthly or yearly basis to keep there data in the cloud. There are many cloud services those are free to certain level like iCloud, Google Drive and Microsoft One Drive.
  3. How to make a plan? Back up plan is topmost important, otherwise your backup will be redundant, messed up and less useful whenever you need it. Firstly, identify the redundant data from all of your computer and keep one which is final data. Remove unnecessary data from all of your computer. Give the file and folder naming convention. You can use date, work and client convention that you can identify easily. For example 20171024_QB_TS, it’s backup for YYYY/MM/DD_My Quick Book Data_My Company Name. When you check the file name it will easily understandable.

Make this backup policy in your daily working habit and it will safe you from any sorts of disaster. If you used to it and if the volume of your work load is going up then you can plan for automation that will save huge as it will backup your important data automatically.
